Pop never seemed to gain back its credibility
as a genre of gravitas since the split of the fab four.

But Hot Chip’s moment is here and they are trying in their own way
to re-express pop as a genre of good sense and actually good music.

They are a hybrid in their own terms,
blending electro and dancefloor pop with ease.

Their latest album cements them as a group which not only
transcends the fickleness of the hoi polloi,
but also the band which gave us the first massive pop single of 2008.

this blond, blue-eyed aussie girl has come a long way
from being a back-up singer in jamiroquai
to projects with massive attack, beck and famously with zero7 .

her excellent video ‘breathe me‘ below put many
expensive mtv’s to shame and is a must watch.

a dose of electrofunk for a friday night?

this duo claims to be best friends since childhood
and while lead singer David Macklovitch is the elder brother of A-Trak,
chromeo can hold their own.

They are insanely catchy and look terribly mismatched but the result is epic.
This weeks friday i’m in love is about waxing lyrical over their hit song
bonafied lovin’ which is insanely catchy.

Some saturdays require a lil drifting into the space between at times.

Plajia being expressed as a beautiful explosion is an understatement.
These canadians (again!) produce an extremely different and fresh sound
which will inch its way closer to your heart with each listen.

Many albums come in and fly by at times which isnt right but im glad i didnt pass on plajia.
They have the ability to charm you to your core essence
especially with their diversity with genre bending.
