The Faint was and still is one of those bands with such a unique sound no one can copy.

I am a HUUGE fan of their previous albums which happened to not have much hype previously but got the critics waxing lyrical.

They have kept up the standard over the past few albums with their brand of dancey music and they took this a step further by releasing it independently on their own label this time (blank.wav records) after leaving saddle creek records.

They have got a new album out this week in US called Fasciination and having heard it I must say its The Faint at their best once again.

Dance/New Wave bands seldom sound this awesome.

disco sirens is a single off midfield general’s latest album which has been out for a while now.

midfield general is damien harris, producer and owner of skint records.

It took him 8 years to release his sophomore album and this track is co-produced by xavier de rosnay (Justice)

So catch the bassline which is downright dirty and hard and bangin’.

The Justice influence is over the top.

This track really made me go kinda nuts at first.

yelle has been stirring so much heat in france im pretty embarrassed that i’m only featuring her now.

‘Je veux te voir‘, the hit single which shot her to fame in 2006 is one hell of a dance track. And i totally get why she and her 80s rewind worth of tracks are as easy on the ears as it is to dance to on a greasy sweaty dirty friday evening.

Shes a huge mainstream hipster in france and with such energy and vibrancy she’s gonna take over the world. Be careful..
